Lunos and opencode

Lunos is a fork of opencode. What that means, and which names still say opencode.

Lunos is a fork of opencode, maintained by ITService EOOD (Axsion), a Bulgarian company. It is not built by, maintained by, or affiliated with the opencode team.

Lunos adds EU data-residency controls, provider jurisdiction metadata, an audit log, organisation policy, offline mode and a curated marketplace, and it merges upstream opencode’s changes every week. Both projects are MIT-licensed; see LICENSE.

Naming

The command is lunos and the npm package is lunos-ai. Some names still say opencode, because the Lunos binary reads them and renaming them would break existing setups. They work exactly as the rest of these docs describe:

NameWhat it is
opencode.json, opencode.jsoncConfig files, in your project or global config directory
.opencode/The project directory for agents, commands, plugins and plans
~/.config/opencode/, ~/.local/share/opencode/Global config and data directories
OPENCODE_*Environment variables, such as OPENCODE_CONFIG
@opencode-ai/plugin, @opencode-ai/sdkThe plugin and SDK packages
https://opencode.ai/config.jsonThe $schema URL in config files. Lunos doesn’t fetch it
opencode.localThe default mDNS name lunos serve --mdns advertises
opencode server listening on …The line lunos serve prints when ready; the SDK waits for it

Lunos-only settings use lunos or LUNOS_ names, for example LUNOS_OFFLINE and LUNOS_DISABLE_AUTOUPDATE.

What these docs leave out

Upstream’s hosted products aren’t part of Lunos, so their pages aren’t here: OpenCode Zen, OpenCode Go, session sharing on opncd.ai (Lunos turns sharing off by default), and the GitHub and GitLab apps.

Support

Report issues at github.com/AxsionDev/Lunos/issues. Don’t report Lunos issues to the opencode project.
